When I saw this photo on sale I knew I had to have it. I was immediately struck by the beauty of the this sad little girl. It was easy to make the jump from the sad little girl that looks like a doll to the broken doll in the end.

Haunted Portraits Featured on ABC News

I recently received a call from the local Tomball newspaper asking if they could do a story on Haunted Portraits for a local angle on Halloween. It was a lot of fun to do and they did a really good article. A couple of days later I got a call from the Houston ABC news channel saying they had seen the article and would like to do a story on Haunted Portraits and asked if I'd be interested. Duhhhhhhhh!!!! Well as it turned out not only did they want to do a story on my work but they also wanted to do a live feed from my living room. My wife and daughter got home just in time to see the broadcast go live. Well as great as the story was, to be honest, not a whole lot of my target audience watches the 4pm news in Houston but hey I wasn't complaining. A couple of days later I received an e-mail from someone in North Carolina that had seen it on ABCnews.com. You can see the video here. The response has been awesome and on Saturday I received a call from the Houston Fox channel asking me to appear on there Monday morning broadcast. I will have the video clips available on my web site later in the week.

Spellow House Becomes the Haunted Portraits European Distributor

Spellow House, Walton, Liverpool, was once the home of the Spellow family. The name Spellow comes (from) a mound of earth, used during the Viking invasions as a place of announcement, that was named “spell-hoe”, which is Scandinavian for “speech hill”. The family built a mill on the mound. The family vanished without trace in the fourteenth century. Who knows what disaster befell them? They were probably wiped out by the Great Mortality of 1347, which later became known as the Black Death. In the early nineteenth century, the five hundred year old windmill burned to the ground and a short while later the house was demolished. Even the mound has been flattened to make way for housing. A single pub and nearby lane bear the name Spellow, but locals have long forgotten why. Although the pub is called the Spellow House, it is not in the original location and no one remembers where the mound used to be. By destroying the house, the mill and even the ground on which they lay,  the Spellow family have been wiped from the history books. Spellow House is named in honor of the Spellow family, and all other families, whose homes and history have been destroyed and forgotten. To the lost souls who now wander aimlessly, with no past, no future, no place to rest, and little hope of remembrance.
